Town, county may lower proposed mitigation rate

The Jackson Town Council and Teton County Board of County Commissioners are easing into a new policy designed to require all types of developers to shoulder the burden of providing workforce housing.

In November elected officials approved a policy direction to require developers to build or pay for housing for all full-time, year-round employees they generate.

Last week, after about 20 people showed up to criticize the proposal and the dramatically increased costs it would place on businesses, elected officials backed off the original proposal.
