Public feedback sought at housing meeting.

What restrictions should be placed on affordable homeowners? What types of development should be responsible for building mitigation housing?

Town and county planners are seeking public input on these questions and more as they work to update housing rules and requirements. A public comment meeting is scheduled for tonight from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the Snow King Grand View Lodge at 537 Snow King Loop Road.

After working in the spring, with the public and elected officials to identify central issues, the planners are seeking feedback from the community on what direction to take on those issues. Up for consideration right now are the rules and regulations that govern who qualifies for Housing Department homes and what restrictions apply to living in those homes, as well as the housing mitigation requirements that are imposed on developers.

“This will define what Jackson is for the next 20 to 50 years,” Housing Director April Norton said.
